Zhang Chong, Professor, Ph.D. and Master’s thesis advisor, Tianjin Municipal Professor (Young Scholar), and Associate Dean of the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering/School of Artificial Intelligence. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas at Arlington and earned his Ph.D. from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences President’s Excellence Award, ranked in the top 1%). He received his bachelor’s degree from Harbin Engineering University (named an Outstanding Graduate of Heilongjiang Province). Awarded as an Outstanding Master’s Thesis Advisor in Tianjin. Has published over 120 papers, including 71 indexed in SCI and 49 in EI; holds 39 national invention patents, with 4 achievements successfully commercialized; and holds 5 software copyrights. He has led 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 key projects funded by the Tianjin Natural Science Foundation, the “Young Top-tier Research Talent Cultivation Program” at Tianjin Normal University, 1 talent recruitment project at Tianjin Normal University, 1 open project at a State Key Laboratory, and 4 industry-sponsored projects; he has participated in 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 3 provincial and ministerial-level projects; he received the Third Prize of the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award (first contributor).
